Gil and Karen Williams, Community Pastors
Gil and Karen Williams are our community pastors who are the hands and feet of our church on the streets of Kingston and surrounding area. They serve to feed and cloth those in need. They lead our Clothing Exchange, cook at soup kitchens, have coordinated Thanksgiving dinner for people in our church who don’t have a place to go, and give out hats and gloves on the streets of Kingston. They pray for and with people with their outreach efforts in mid-town Kingston, and regularly visit local hospitals and nursing homes. They are our liaison to local civic and other partner organizations. They also serve as pastoral leads for children’s worship at, which takes place during the second service each Sunday.
Outside our region they have led mission trips to Jamaica where God is using them to help build a church. They have partnered with pastors and churches in India and have raised money to put two wells in providing water to two different communities and nearly 500 people.
Gil was a former addict and was totally delivered from drugs after 40 years — washed clean in the Baptismal tub at King’s Fire. In 2012 he was healed by His Lord and Savior from a severe illness that doctors said would take his life within two years. He was ordained by Global Ministries Relief on December 4, 2016. He worked in the Kingston City School District for 34 years, which allows him to make many connections throughout the city of Kingston. Karen was a hair stylist for 44 years before retiring. In recent years she led all but two of her clients to Christ. Gil and Karen have two sons and four grandchildren. They have also been legal law guardians and foster parents to many children in need over the years.
